I’m probably way more excited about this than is warranted, but I’m feeling very proud of myself—  I’m listed as one of the “favorite local poets” for the Women of the World Qualifier/Slam at AS220! (I had been asked to read prior to the slam, but I thought it was going to be more informal, and didn’t even imagine that I’d be publicized at all.)  And I will be reading alongside some really really amazing poets.
I feel like I’m finally starting to make a real name for myself in the local poetry scene.  I just wish it didn’t start happening so close to me moving away from RI, but what can you do?  My poetry is getting out there regardless, which is really really awesome.
If you’re around Providence, come and support this awesome event!  Even if you’re not local, isn’t coming to support one of your friends who is a “favorite local poet” a reason to make the trek?
